After install, I can't connect to port 9000 to finish install/configure

Hi!

I have a new docker install on a linux/centos7 system of mine. I installed portainer as per the install instructions on portainer website. The container is running, port 9000 is bound to docker-proxy, container logs seem to indicate everyting is fine. docker version 19.03.6-3.el7

However, when I go to http://xxxx:9000, the connection resets and I can’t finish setup.

Firewalld is off on this system.

Any suggestions as to where to start to debug?

iptables shows a rule in place for port 9000 to get forwarded to the container.

Thanks,

Bobby

Hi!

After more testing, I’m wondering if docker can’t access my network. I downloaded an ubuntu image and ran it interactively. From within the ubuntu container, i was not able to update the container’s ubuntu package list. How does one go about testing docker network functions?

Thanks,

Bobby

Hi!

I solved this problem by:

  • uninstalling docker completely
  • yum update my system
  • reboot
  • re-install docker
  • re-install portainer

Now everything works.
